We’re very excited to be taking Searchlight stateside. Margaret will not only be running the game, but also talking at the IndieCade East, which will be held at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, Queens, NYC.
Growing out of IndieCade, IndieCade East is a celebration of what makes independent games so important. While IndieCade has always focused on giving the Independent Game community both a home and a voice from its headquarters in Los Angeles, IndieCade East is about inviting the general public into that home and making indies heard throughout the world.
The game making scene in New York is one of the most vibrant, producing 16 IndieCade Official Selections in 2012 alone. What’s more, the east coast boasts some of the most successful indies, inspiring academics, and best game journalist. With IndieCade East, we wanted to introduce these brilliant minds to a whole new audience.
Our talks, exhibitions, and special events bring people from all walks of life into the independent spirit by showing them what drives us, how we think about games, and how they can join us in creating these incredible interactive experiences. IndieCade East brings together game makers, scholars, enthusiasts, and people who are new to independent games in a three day event that shows the passion, excitement, and the depths of game culture.
