Greed! The Gameshow

Last weekend saw Hide&Seek take over the Royal Court bar with Greed! The Gameshow, to celebrate the end of Dennis Kelly’s dark tale, The Ritual Slaughter of Gorge Mastromas.

The pre-show game pitted audience members against each other in a battle of acquisition and lies. Behind a wall of cards lay sums of money, from £4,000, all the way down to minus £2,500. And in five minute rounds, it was up to our contestants to pick cards and either tell the truth or lie about what they had in order to fool the opposition, who had the power to steal what they had picked. Of course, not all of the cards were that straightforward…

The games were fast, furious, and (thanks to some fine feats of memory concerning Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and a catastrophic lack of knowledge of female playwrights), ridiculously fun.

Congratulations go to Toby and Iona, our best liars, who both won tickets to Kate Tempest’s award-winning show Brand New Ancients. Many thanks to all who came and a special thank you to our extraordinary gameshow host with most, Ben Revell.

We’ll no doubt bring Greed! The Gameshow back at some point soon – keep an eye out on Hide&Seek’s corner of the internet for news.
