Farewell, Mark Sorrell!

It is with great sadness that we are saying goodbye to Development Director Mark Sorrell. Here he is, explaining his reasons in his own inimitable style…

So I’ve decided to leave my position as Development Director here at Hide&Seek. What? Why would I even do that? Am I insane? Yes.

In Sesame Street Family Play we’ve just released a wonderful app, that is being downloaded at a crazy pace and reviewed in the most loving terms by basically everybody who has used it. We’re only weeks away from releasing Tiny Games, which is, if anything, even better.

And Hide&Seek is one of the most innovative and forward-thinking game design studios I can think of, let alone have worked for. The depth of game design talent in this studio is terrifying, and no matter how good you think you are, you have to sprint flat out to keep up with the pulsating game brains that litter our two offices.

But…

I’ve wanted to do my own thing for years. I really, really have. And now I’m going to. I’ll be consulting and advising on the weirdly useful combination of things I have spent my time so far doing.

I’ll still be keeping my hand in with the wonderful folks here at Hide&Seek, lending my expertise to projects that need it and helping with strategy and such wherever I can. So they haven’t quite seen the back of me yet. But I will no longer be Directing Development as of this Friday.

See you on the internet.
