As the Weekender moves into its final day of talks and presentations, we’re thrilled to be making two announcments. The first is that we have launched an American studio in SoHo, New York, headed up by none other than our very own Margaret Robertson, who becomes Managing Director, Hide&Seek New York. We’re still all a bit giddy in London about the whole being able to say ‘Hide&Seek New York’ thing, but Margaret’s been there for the last six months and she’s already terribly cool and Manhattan about it. She’s leading a team of very talented people that’s working on a super-exciting (and super-secret for the time being) new project that we can’t wait to tell you all about next month, and we’re all looking forward very much to working more closely with our American partners and clients over the coming months and years.
Filling her shoes in London (well, not literally, as that would result in sore feet and busted shoes) is our good friend and now colleague Mark Sorrell. We’re huge fans of the work Mark’s done at a range of TV companies over the last ten years, inventing hugely innovative tv/game hybrids, and we’re big fans of his industry presence, his insightful blog and his height. As the following blog post makes clear, he’s bringing fresh, commercial thinking to our existing slate of projects, and before long we hope to be announcing a range of new projects and IPs that we’re working together on right now.
